Ketan is a Partner in Trilegal’s Dispute Resolution practice. He has extensive experience in international commercial arbitration and commercial litigation, including insolvency, bankruptcy, and white-collar crime matters. He regularly appears as lead counsel in high-value, complex disputes before the Supreme Court of India, as well as various High Courts and District Courts across the country. He also acts as lead counsel before arbitral tribunals seated in India and abroad, company law tribunals, and other judicial/ quasi-judicial authorities in India.
 
Ketan has significant experience in leading arbitrations under the aegis of SIAC, ICC, LCIA, DIAC, MCIA, and other major institutions. He is registered as a foreign lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC). He has experience in acting as Indian law counsel before the SICC and the Singapore Court of Appeal in arbitration-related proceedings. Ketan is routinely appointed as an arbitrator and has received several appointments as an arbitrator in commercial disputes from Constitutional Courts in India, such as the Delhi High Court.

  • Represented Dover AID V Pte Ltd in an ongoing shareholder dispute against KnowledgePark Haryana SEZ Investment Holding Ltd in an LCIA arbitration seated in London. The arbitration pertains to the enforcement of development/ ownership rights of prime real estate in India and is valued at over USD 100mn. Ketan is leading the charge for the client, the arbitration, and in injunction proceedings before the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
  • Represented Panacea Biotech Limited (Panacea) against Human Vaccine LLC in an LCIA arbitration seated in London under an agreement for the manufacturing and transfer of technology of the Covid-19 Sputnik V vaccine. The cumulative value of claims/ counterclaims in the arbitration is USD 40mn (approx.).
  • Acted for NTPC Limited as the Claimant in an UNCITRAL arbitration seated in Singapore against the Joint Stock Company TKZ Kasny Kotelschchik (TKZ) in enforcing an indemnity claim of approx. USD 350mn. Ketan is also advising the client in anti-arbitration injunction proceedings initiated by TKZ before courts in Russia and proposed anti-suit injunction proceedings in Singapore.
  • Acted for Redwood International Capital Limited as the Claimant in an ICC arbitration seated in London against HuDe GmbH for the recovery of the outstanding dues under an agreement for the provision of consultancy services. The Respondent has undergone self-administration proceedings in Germany, and the dispute involves intricate issues of German insolvency law and arbitration law.
  • Advised Tata Communications Limited in a dispute against FirePro, a fire safety equipment manufacturer in Cyprus, in a UNCITRAL arbitration seated in India. This includes proceedings before the Supreme Court of India. The claims in the arbitration are approximately USD 15mn.
