Kevin is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, a seasoned trial lawyer, and a trusted advisor to clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to privately held businesses. Kevin’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, principally in the areas of business disputes, product liability and aviation. He has handled high-stakes matters in federal and state courts across industries including aviation, financial services, healthcare, and construction and involving claims including breach-of-contract, tortious interference, unfair and deceptive trade/competition, patent infringement, wrongful death, product liability, and constitutional/civil rights. His matters often involve technically complex products and systems, ranging from jet engines to pharmaceuticals and medical devices to computer hardware and software.
Kevin is a member of the highly selective Product Liability Advisory Council and chairs the firm’s Product Liability and Aviation practices. In these areas, he has counseled and defended product designers, manufacturers, sellers, owners, operators, and insurers in industries including aviation, drug and medical device, sporting goods, consumer, food, and industrial products.
He has also represented clients in commercial, contract, and intellectual property disputes, including investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, patent infringement and trade secrets, unfair and deceptive trade practices (CUTPA), Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), antitrust, and other business tort claims.
Kevin has also assisted physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare entities in acquisition and other commercial disputes, and in numerous medical malpractice and healthcare-related actions involving medical services, products, and devices with large damage claims.
Over the course of his legal career, Kevin has earned extensive recognition. Benchmark Litigation named him a “Litigation Star,” and he has been consistently recognized in Who’s Who Legal in the area of aviation litigation and in Super Lawyers in the areas of aviation litigation, product liability defense, and business litigation. In addition to his bustling practice, Kevin devotes substantial time to firm leadership and the bar.
In addition to serving as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, he serves on several other firm committees and also served as the Treasurer and Finance Chair for the Board of Directors of Connecticut Statewide Legal Services (legal aid). He serves as the Connecticut State Chair of the International Association of Defense Counsel, and is a James W. Cooper Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation. Kevin is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Council. He is a proud recipient of the firm’s Pro Bono Achievement Award.
Before joining the firm, Kevin served as law clerk to the Honorable Thomas F. Hogan of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and to the Honorable Barrington D. Parker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Kevin graduated with honors from Georgetown Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief at The Georgetown Law Journal and was elected a member of The Order of the Coif. He obtained a bachelor’s degree with honors from Yale University.
