Marshall Camp is a skilled trial lawyer, former federal prosecutor, and co-founder of
Hueston Hennigan who has been described in Chambers as among “a very small handful of attorneys who command the courtroom, the boardroom and any meeting they’re in.” 

Mr. Camp’s practice encompasses wide-ranging, complex commercial disputes, including trade secret, contract, corporate control, securities, intellectual property, commercial fraud, employment, professional liability, trust, bankruptcy and tax matters, as well as white collar defense. He represents Fortune 500 companies, middle-market businesses, startups, and prominent individuals in numerous industries. 

A former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, Mr. Camp also has extensive experience guiding clients through regulatory investigations and criminal enforcement actions, and he has obtained pre-indictment declinations and post-indictment dismissals in numerous cases. In his role as a federal prosecutor, Mr. Camp was lead or co-lead trial counsel in a wide range of criminal cases, including one of the largest criminal tax cases in U.S. history.

Mr. Camp is ranked in Chambers for Litigation: White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations, where clients have described him as a “smart, savvy litigator” who “gets great results because he is always thinking like a trial lawyer.” His work as a trial lawyer has been recognized with his selection as a Senior Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of U.S. lawyers.   • Mr. Camp is co-lead counsel for Joe Kiani, the founder and former chairman and CEO of Masimo Corporation, in a multi-jurisdictional dispute in California and Delaware relating to Mr. Kiani’s claims that he was pretextually terminated, following seizure of board control by activist investors, as part of an effort to evade more than $400 million owed to Mr. Kiani under his employment agreement.

  • Mr. Camp is lead counsel for Qualcomm, a Fortune 100 technology company, in connection with criminal proceedings related to a $150-plus million fraud perpetrated against the company by a former senior engineer. He previously represented the company in a successful civil action that resulted in recovery of tens of millions of dollars.

  • Mr. Camp won a “landmark” opioid trial for Endo Pharmaceuticals in a $50 billion action. Three of the most populous counties in California and the City of Oakland brought suit against opioid manufacturers alleging false advertising, unfair competition and public nuisance. The jurisdictions claimed that manufacturers’ alleged false and misleading marketing caused a $50 billion public nuisance. Obtained a full defense verdict following a four-month trial. The win was hailed in The American Lawyer as “giv[ing] drug companies their first major victory in the litigation brought by cities and counties across the country over the opioid crisis.” 
     
  • Mr. Camp won a complete arbitration trial victory on all claims and counterclaims for a prominent Napa winery and its majority owner against the winery’s founder, former CEO, and minority owner in a case alleging fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and other claims. The award included more than $5 million in damages, fees and costs, in addition to an extraordinary order dissociating the defendant from his role as a member of the company.

  • Mr. Camp secured the complete dismissal of a 47-felony indictment against a prominent Newport Beach attorney and entrepreneur involving his former role as a partner and principal of the Jacoby & Meyers law firm. Camp secured the dismissal—and termination of a related proceeding involving Jacoby & Meyers—after five years of pre- and post-indictment litigation.
