Matthew Schwartz is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Group. His wide-ranging practice comprises complex litigation, appeals, arbitration, and government investigations in the areas of securities law, M&A, derivative suits, antitrust, bank regulation, contracts, constitutional law, administrative law and general commercial litigation. He has represented some of the world’s leading corporations, financial institutions, and industry organizations, including Barclays, The Bank Policy Institute, Cablevision, Giants Stadium, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Kohl’s, MSG, M+T Bank, Popular, Revlon, UBS, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Volkswagen. Mr. Schwartz provides regular advice on legislation and regulations in the banking, FinTech, and payments fields.

Mr. Schwartz is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Standards for Attorney Conduct and a member of its Artificial Intelligence Subcommittee. He regularly speaks and writes on legal ethics issues.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Schwartz clerked for then-Judge Alito on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and then again for Justice Alito on the U.S. Supreme Court.
