Priyanka Timblo is a trial lawyer who represents clients in high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration on both sides of the “v.” She has secured eight-and nine-figure judgments on behalf of her clients, in bench and jury trials. Bloomberg Law has recognized her as one of the top 40 lawyers under 40 nationwide, and Benchmark Litigation has called her a Future Star.
Priyanka has particular experience in antitrust and breach of contract disputes. She has also handled securities class actions, internal investigations, and white-collar matters. She is skilled at crafting case narratives, developing trial strategy from the outset of a case, and preparing and examining witnesses. Clients have described her to Benchmark Litigation as “incredibly talented, driven, hungry, smart, dedicated, and hard working.”
In April 2024, Priyanka won a $101.2 million jury verdict against Walmart in a breach of contract case. She served as co-lead counsel for the plaintiff, London Luxury. Priyanka examined five of the witnesses at trial and was named Litigator of the Week by The American Lawyer. The National Law Journal also named Brendon and Priyanka as finalists for the National Winning Litigators Award. The case was tried over 10 days in Walmart’s hometown in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, and the jury verdict is one of the largest ever achieved in Arkansas.
In March 2023, Priyanka secured a $69.8 million award on behalf of investment fund Melody Business Finance involving loans defaulted on by former hedge fund billionaire Philip Falcone, taking the direct examination of the key witness at the damages inquest. The resulting decision awarded Melody approximately 99% of the maximum amount it sought in its complaint, including attorneys’ fees.
Her other recent trial work includes representing Valassis Communications, a MacAndrews & Forbes company, in a jury trial in the Southern District of New York involving a massive antitrust claim against News Corp., in which she examined a key witness. Priyanka is currently trial counsel for Visa in multi-district class action antitrust litigation in which retailers nationwide are challenging credit- and debit-card network rules and bank card “swipe fees.”
Priyanka is frequently sought as a speaker on antitrust issues. For two years in a row, Priyanka has presented at the ABA Antitrust Spring Meeting, the world’s largest gathering of antitrust and competition lawyers. In 2023, she presented on a panel addressing cross-jurisdictional developments in antitrust class actions. In 2024, she presented at the conference’s mock trial event.
Priyanka serves on Holwell Shuster & Goldberg’s Hiring Committee, where she plays a lead role in hiring talent. Priyanka also has an active pro bono practice. Through her efforts, HSG became one of the first private law firms to support the ACLU of Louisiana’s Justice Lab initiative, a campaign against racist policing in response to the killing of George Floyd. In 2021, HSG joined with the Justice Lab to pursue one of its cases, which settled on favorable terms in 2023.
She has special expertise in analyzing, pricing, and managing legal risk from her time as an investment professional at global legal finance and risk management company Omni Bridgeway. Priyanka previously was a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, and clerked for the Hon. Eileen Gillese and the Hon. Sarah Pepall of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Priyanka was named to Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” in 2023. She has also been recognized on Lawdragon’s 500 X – The Next Generation list since 2023 and was named a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation and to its 40 & Under List in 2024.
