Tara Reinhart is head of the Antitrust/Competition Group in Skadden’s Washington, D.C. office. She focuses on civil litigation and government investigations, with an emphasis on complex antitrust litigation and international cartel probes. Ms. Reinhart has led trial teams in several merger challenges, including for Sabre in its successful defense of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division's challenge to Sabre's acquisition of Farelogix, and for the Federal Trade Commission in its successful challenge of the Staples-Office Depot merger. She has handled many individual and class actions alleging theories of conspiracy and monopolization in many sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, technology, and transportation. In 2022, Ms. Reinhart represented Sabre in its successful retrial of claims by U.S. Airways, resulting in a jury finding Sabre not liable on one claim and awarding only $1 in damages on the other. Ms. Reinhart defended Norfolk Southern Railroad against monopolization and conspiracy claims brought by CSX Transportation, resulting in dismissal of all claims on the eve of trial in 2023. Ms. Reinhart has also handled criminal and civil investigations by the Antitrust Division, the FTC and state attorneys general in many industries. Additionally, Ms. Reinhart advises clients on antitrust compliance matters, including designing compliance programs, training executives and performing compliance audits.
