Veronica Manning is a Principal in the Houston office of McKool Smith.  She practices primarily in complex commercial litigation, with significant experience in the chapter 11 restructuring space and bankruptcy litigation.  She has represented debtors, creditors’ committees and creditors in complex Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases, and litigation trustees in post-confirmation D&O litigation. 

In recent years, she has focused her practice on disputes within the energy industry, particularly oil and gas disputes between and among the various industry players.  She currently represents both operators and landowners in lease interpretation and royalty disputes in Texas, Ohio, and West Virginia. Veronica was a part of the trial team to secure a $5 million verdict against Santander Consumer USA Inc. for breach of contract on behalf of Enterprise Financial Group, the innovator behind the award-winning Hyundai Assurance program. She also helped to obtain a $30 million jury verdict on behalf of Twinwood Cattle Company, Inc. (“Twinwood”) against the American Akaushi Association (“AAA”), HeartBrand Holdings, Inc. (“HeartBrand”) and the Chairman of the Board of both companies, Ronald Beeman.
