Ms. Yanhua Lin is a partner of Fangda Partners. Ms. Lin specializes in dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, compliance and government enforcement matters. Ms. Lin has represented clients in many complex disputes before well-known arbitration institutions such as the ICC, HKIAC, and CIETAC. She is currently an Ambassador of HKIAC HK45, and was the China representative of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum. She also regularly handles commercial and administrative litigation before the PRC courts at all levels, involving complex issues in areas ranging from the securities market and environmental protection to international treaty claims. She advises domestic clients in foreign legal proceedings, including class actions in the U.S. In addition, Ms. Lin has extensive experience in compliance and government enforcement matters relating to the financial and securities market, state secrecy, data privacy, and cross-border data production.  

  • Represented a PRC state-owned company in successfully settling an HKIAC arbitration involving a several-billion-RMB dispute related to a real estate investment project, including hotel management issues and PRC corporate governance issues.
  • Successfully defended a Southeast Asian company in an ad hoc arbitration in Hong Kong over disputes arising from a commodities purchase and sale contract.
  • Defended the receiver of Lehman Brothers (Europe) in PRC court proceedings about its role in structuring certain financial derivatives worth approximately US$200 million, with the proceedings involving Hong Kong, UK and PRC laws.
  • Assisted a Chinese internet giant in class actions brought against it before the District Court of the Southern District of New York and before a Californian court, and advised on Chinese state secrecy and cross-border data production laws
  • Advised an international investment institution on reaching administrative reconciliation in a Chinese regulatory investigation into securities and futures trading.
