The International Trademark Association (INTA) conference was held from May 16 to 20, 2023 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel Convention and Exhibition Center in Singapore, attracting over 8000 attendees from around the world. An ardent supporter of INTA, Anjie Broad was represented by Albert Tsui and Wency Yu, both Partners, at this year’s conference, during which they met with clients and partners, and participated in various activities.
As the co-chairman of the INTA Bulletin China Sub-committee, Tsui, originated from Hong Kong, China, participated in the committee meetings along with other Chinese representatives. At the meeting, Tsui introduced to committee members the latest IP developments in Mainland China and Hong Kong, and reported on updates of INTA's Chinese language Bulletin (the only non-English version of INTA Bulletin).
As a member of the INTA Copyright Committee, Yu collaborates with IP professionals from around the world to explore cutting-edge copyright issues related to artificial intelligence and the metaverse.
On May 18, Yu and Tsui attended the INTA China Reception, which magnetizes global professionals who are deeply interested in China’s IP development. The two partners took this chance to communicate with attendees and discuss about IP cooperation between China and the rest of the world.
On May 19, the two partners attended the event held by Meritas, a global alliance of leading independent law firms, in Raffles Hotel of Singapore. AnJie Broad is a member of Meritas. Founded in 1990, Meritas currently has 183 top-ranking law firm members spanning 92 countries. At the event, Meritas members exchanged views on Singapore's role as an IP hub for MNCs, and finished off with a group photo of members holding a glass of Singapore Sling, a cocktail originated from the Hotel.
