Dechert has hired a new partner in Philadelphia.
Sozi Pedro Tulante joins the white collar crime and trials practice. Previously Tulante was the chief attorney for Philadelphia where he led a team of lawyers in the Philadelphia Law Department which represented the city in all lawsuits and also advised the Mayor, City Council and all departments, agencies and commissions of the city.
Tulante was also City Solicitor for two years during which time he successfully defended the Philadelphia Beverage Tax and successfully sued the Department of Justice to challenge its efforts to withhold critical federal funds based on Philadelphia's status as a "sanctuary city".
