Over the past 12 months, the team has been busy acting in various commercial and transactions-related disputes representing contractors, operators and government agencies.
Case highlights include representing Taiwan’s tourism bureau in a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) dispute with the operator of Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area in southern Taiwan. The operator terminated early the BOT agreement, alleging Taiwan’s tourism bureau’s breach of its undertakings.
The firm also represents the Taiwan government in the 2021 Hualien train derailment incident, and represents MRT Engineering Office, Bureau of High Speed Rail, Ministry of Transportation and Communication in a dispute involving the construction of the Taoyuan International Airport metro line.
Notable clients include Munich Re, Taiwan’s tourism bureau, China’s National Women’s League, Home Semiconductor Corporation, Ornatus Taiwan, National Taiwan University, Railway Reconstruction Bureau and Taoyuan International Airport.
The firm hired Colin Wu as the deputy head of litigation from Lee and Li in August 2022.
