Nicole Lavallee in Berman Tabacco's San Francisco office is cheered by a client for her “communication, strategy and expertise in the field.” A peer notes, “I’m seeing her on more securities fraud cases, making motions for lead plaintiff.” Lavallee secured a settlement in an action that was brought on behalf of investors in Healthcare Services Group, a provider of housekeeping and laundry services to hospitals and other healthcare service organizations.

BLANK ROME
Resident the Los Angeles office, Linda Kornfeld is a member of Blank Rome's celebrated insurance recovery team. Peers in the practice refer to Kornfeld as "one of the best policyholder-side lawyers out there" who has "gained a lot of visibility for her high-dollar recoveries, which span a large and novel range of industries."

HUESTON HENNIGAN
Allison Libeu in the Los Angeles office of bi-coastal trial boutique Hueston Hennigan has quickly developed a high profile at a relatively young vintage. Libeu was part of a firm team that scored for energy drink entity Monster when a California jury awarded the client $293 million in a hotly contested Lanham Act, false advertising and trade secrets case with a rival.

HUNTON ANDREWS KURTH

As an authority on global climate change matters, she is often tapped to handle enforcement, environmental incident responses, permits, and regulatory advocacy and defense. Broome has recently been engaged in climate change related environmental litigation on behalf of one of the leading oil and gas distributors. The mass tort litigation involves lawsuits filed across the US.

White-collar and securities star Melinda Haag has been a key component in the launch of Paul Weiss's West Coast presence, opening the firm's San Francisco office after joining in January 2021. Haag comes with unwavering peer support and "hardcore white-collar credentials"; she had previously done a five-year stint as the US Attorney for the Northern District of California, where she won acclaim for her impressive track record of prosecuting fraud and corruption claims.

SHOOK HARDY & BACON
Jessica Grant recently joined Shook Hardy & Bacon in their San Francisco office, bringing over a long-running career of trial work in a number of areas, but with a particular emphasis on complex class actions in the areas of product liability and employment. She has previously handled cases PFAS related lawsuits on behalf of chemical manufacturers, and actions involving copyright infringement, fraud, and tortious interference.

SUMMIT LAW

is a commercial litigator at Seattle boutique Summit Law. Goldman also attends to a niche practice in First Amendment and media/defamation law, representing a range of public and private clients. Goldman represented the City of Seattle in a First Amendment challenge to its Fair Chance Housing Ordinance, which bans landlords from inquiring about or using a tenant’s criminal record, and also represented a group of subpoenaed legislators and legislative staff in a redistricting lawsuit. Shannon Phillips is a labor and employment-focused practitioner. In one recent matter, Phillips represented a call center in defense of wage-and-hour class action seeking damages for alleged unpaid pre- and post-shift work. Phillips secured a series of wins that ultimately led to the plaintiffs voluntarily dismissing the remaining claims.

WILMERHALE
WilmerHale's Sonal Mehta is one of the youngest and most championed stars of the Bay Area/Silicon Valley patent community. Mehta has been lead counsel on several groundbreaking patent actions in the past several years and as of late has become a go-to for social-media juggernaut Meta – corporate parent of household names Facebook and Instagram – in several cases involving issues of antitrust, privacy and breach-of-contract, sometimes involving an intersection of any of these three. “Sonal’s practice is tailor made for the Bay Area trendy tech titans,” quips a peer.
