Denise Bambrough is a partner in the Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Denise has practised extensively in the areas of construction and surety bond law for over 30 years. She handles all types of surety bond claims, including claims under performance bonds, labour and material payment bonds, lien bonds and developer surety bonds. She also handles indemnity actions and other proceedings relating to the recovery of surety bond losses and provides advice on surety underwriting issues. Denise also handles a wide variety of other construction claims, including breach of contract claims, delay claims, professional negligence claims, lien claims and claims for breach of trust. She has extensive experience representing surety bonding companies, contractors and owners and providing advice in respect of a broad array of issues that arise throughout the construction project life cycle. Denise also has extensive experience handling fraud investigations and civil fraud recovery actions. Her specialized expertise with respect to fidelity bond claims, fraudulent conveyance actions, transfer under value applications, and pursuing extraordinary remedies on behalf of victims of fraud is often brought to bear in the context of complex construction fraud claims.
