Elias is a partner at Consortium Legal – Guatemala. With more than 12 years of experience in food and beverages, financial services, insurance, real estate, retail and mining; he has extensive experience in civil, commercial, arbitration, administrative, intellectual property and tax litigation. In recent years, he has been in charge of defending the opposition against a mining concession (the value of the mining project is US$400 million), the nullity of contracts related to a seaport (the investment exceeds US$30 million), adjustments to income tax (US$40 million), infringement of bank bonds (US$3 million), infringement of an license contract (US$10 million), infringement of an administrative contract with the State (US$2 million).
He has been a professor of company law in the master’s degree in the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Universidad Rafael Landívar (2011-2014). Since 2015 he is a professor of civil and commercial procedural law at Universidad del Istmo. He has collaborated with the Association of Lawyers and Notaries of Guatemala as a professor of the cassation appeal (2015 to the date).
