Evan Nuttall is a partner in Smart & Biggar’s Calgary office. An experienced and accomplished litigator, he is sought after for complex intellectual property matters by some of the leading players in the energy, oil and manufacturing sectors and has held the role of lead counsel in high-profile patent disputes. Evan’s practice is focused exclusively on complex litigation matters including infringement actions relating to patents, licensing, trademarks, copyright and industrial designs. Known as extremely diligent and capable, Evan uses his practical knowledge of business objectives to provide solid strategic advice and acts as a forceful advocate on behalf of his clients. Prior to his legal career in Canada, Evan practiced in England as a barrister. He has appeared before the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal in Canada, and the Court of Appeal of England and Wales.
