Samantha is a Partner in McMillan’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group with a focus on complex class actions and commercial/securities disputes. She has appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada, Federal courts, various provincial courts and all levels of court in Ontario. She acts on domestic and international class action defence matters, with particular expertise in competition class actions, including cases involving finance (foreign exchange, SSA bonds), electronic components (DRAM, ODD), digital display advertising, generic drugs, various auto parts, caustic soda, salmon, fragrances and brokerage commissions. Samantha also has expertise in securities litigation, including contested M&A litigation, hostile proxy and control contests, enforcement, derivative actions, oppression claims, cross-border shareholder disputes and securities class actions. She teaches Securities Litigation at Queen’s University. Samantha was appointed to the Ontario Securities Commission-Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee in 2023 and completed a secondment with the Office of Mergers and Acquisitions at the Ontario Securities Commission in 2019.
