McGuireWoods has hired a new investigations partner in Chicago.

Roger Heaton joins the firm’s government investigations and white collar litigation department. Previously Heaton supervised investigations and prosecutions of public corruption, narcotics and gang offences, money laundering, racketeering, tax evasion and other major federal claims whilst he was serving as US Attorney for the central District of Illinois.

Heaton also served as chief of staff and homeland security advisor to the former Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner.

Heaton is one of three formal federal prosecutors to join the firm’s white collar practice recently.
