Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan has announced the formation of a cannabis litigation practice group.
Robert Becher a partner in Los Angeles will serve as the chair of the group leading a dozen other partners operating out of six different offices.
The establishment of the new group comes as the cannabis industry grows in the United States. Currently it is legal for recreational use in 11 states and the District of Columbia; it is also legal in 33 other states for medical use.
The firm had already represented clients in cannabis cases including retailers, private equity firms, CEOs, corporate board members and a pharmaceutical company.
