Marie-Louise is a partner and a member of the management committee at Woods LLP. She has been practicing in the field of civil and commercial litigation since 2002, more specifically in matters relating to securities, professional liability, public-private partnerships, and class actions. She is recognized as having extensive trial experience and has represented the interests of various clients in arbitrations while having to her credit various injunction files. Marie- Louise is highly regarded for her capacity to deal with intricate situations and complex fact patterns involving a multitude of parties, in written and oral pleadings.

Representative cases include:

  • Represented Chrysler Canada Inc. and CIBC Mellon Trust Company in a $165 million action against Coopers & Lybrand and others in connection with auditors’ professional liability.
  • Successfully challenged a request securing the dismissal of a motion for a provi-sional interlocutory injunction against an ex-employee, and the company for which he works.
  • Participated in securing a class action judgment against a semi-public agency acting as a pension manager to pay considerable damages to several pensioners following the dissemination of misleading information.
  • Represented a spectrum of professionals (accountants, architects, and others having several professional liability claims against them dismissed and continue to do so on a regular basis.
  • Acts for several companies in consumer law class actions.
  • Acts for the constructors and facility managers in various claims stemming from three PPP projects, including claims for defects, cost overruns, contractual penalties and security packages.
