Mario Archila is Partner of Arias since August 2014, and has practiced law for over 30 years. His practice is devoted to dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration. He is highly regarded for his mediation and negotiation skills. He is also an expert and has vast experience on intellectual property, health approval and real estate.
Mario leads the litigation department and he specializes in resolving conflicts through creative and cost-efficient solutions including out-of-court- settlements, alternate dispute resolution mechanisms and he is also a skillful litigator. His dispute resolution practice covers the following areas of law: corporate, commercial, real estate, taxes, constitutional, administrative, labour, transportation, intellectual property, criminal law, international arbitration.
Mario was Treasurer of the Bar Association of Guatemala (1996-1999); he was also a Substitute Magistrate of the Court of Appeals (1999-2004); Deen and Member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Law and Justice at Universidad San Pablo de GuatemalaHe was appointed as arbitrator in 2009 at the Court of Arbitration for Sports based in Lausanne, Switzerland and holds the position up to date.
He holds a Master’s degree in Commercial and Economic Law from Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala (2007) and earned his Postgraduate degree in Civil
Appeals from Universidad San Pablo in Guatemala (2009). Mr. Archila holds a diploma in Fiscal and Tax Aspects from the Chamber of Commerce in Guatemala (2002) and Legal Aspects of International Legal Acts from INCAE Business School (Nicaragua, 2000).
