Mtre Nicolas Roche’s practice is focused on shareholder disputes, directors and officers’ liability and corporate governance. He has cutting-edge expertise with respect to shareholder oppression remedies, including legal questions related to business valuation, interpretation and application of shareholder agreements, forced buybacks of shares, enforcement of shotgun clauses and the exercise of statutory and contractual rights of shareholders. He also advises start-up companies in the context of pre-litigation disputes related to financing.
Mtre Roche also manages complex and high stakes multijurisdictional commercial litigations involving the application of private international law and foreign states. He has extensive experience in extraordinary remedies such as injunctions and seizures, as well as Anton Piller (civil search warrants), Mareva (asset freezing) and Norwich (disclosure of information) orders.
He graduated with honours from the Faculty of Law of the Université de Montréal.
