A senior partner within BLG’s Disputes Practice, Bob Love leads the national Product Liability, Autonomous Vehicles, and Automotive Sector Groups in addition to effectively defending clients against claims and resolving disputes. His expertise includes product liability, aviation, subrogation, insurance defence, and municipal and professional liability. Bob has represented a wide array of clients — from insurers to small and global entities — and has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of the trial and appellate courts of Ontario. He is known for his abilities to simplify complex, technical matters and render them more easily understood; critically and accurately assess damages; and finding pragmatic, innovative approaches to resolution. In addition to advocacy, Bob has also been instrumental in advising clients on risk mitigation. Called to the Bar in 1994, Bob is active within the legal industry and within the community. He is the former Vice Chair of the Product Liability Committee for the International Association of Defense Attorneys and previously held the role of Chair for the Product Liability Committee, Canadian Defence Lawyers’ Association. Bob regularly speaks at conferences and has authored many articles and publications, most recently on CAVs, including MaaS.
