Former BTPO director joins Dannemann Siemsen
Liane Lage, former Director of Patents, Computer Programs and Integrated Circuit Topographies at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO), joined Dannemann Siemsen as a senior patent counsel. Lage has a technical background in chemical engineering.
Quarles & Brady combines with Adsero IP
National law firm Quarles & Brady expanded its practice by merging with Adsero IP and opening an office in Denver. Ian Saffer will serve as managing partner of the Denver office.
Reed Smith welcomes trial lawyer
IP/tech litigator Michael A Tomasulo joined Reed Smith as a partner in California. Tomasulo was previously a partner at Winston & Strawn.
Barnes & Thornburg hired three IP partners
Chris Hoff and Brad Pedersen joined Barnes & Thornburg as partners in its Minneapolis office. Hoff was previously a principal at Fish & Richardson while Pederson served as CEO of QFO Labs, a patent licensing company. The firm also welcomed biochemistry patent attorney Tina Dorr as a partner in Altlanta.
DLA Piper hires 30 patent practitioners from rival
DLA Piper has significantly expanded its Intellectual Property & Technology practice group with the addition of a team of 30 patent practitioners led by partners Peter Yim, Christopher Eide, Brian Ho, Randy Omid, Michael Swett, and Parker Kuhl. They were previously with Dentons.
Goodwin welcomes IP/tech trio
Goodwin hired IP litigators Scott Weingaertner, Stefan Mentzer, and John Padro as partners in its New York office. They were previously with White & Case. Earlier this year, IP litigator Sharon R Smith joined the firm’s San Francisco office as a partner.

Pinsent Masons hires patent attorney in London
Pinsent Masons welcomed life sciences patent attorney Kristina Cornish as a partner in its London office. Cornish was previously a partner at Kilburn & Strode.
D Young & Co gets new partner
D Young & Co has added pharmaceutical patent attorney Lawrence King to its practice in London. Prior to joining, King was a partner at Simmons & Simmons.
Bryn Aarflot adds IP lawyer
Bryn Aarflot hired IP lawyer Stine Sønstebø in February 2023. Sønstebø joined from Plougmann Vingtoft.
